Warranty & Complaints

Guarantee

All our watches come with a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase.

If your purchase becomes defective during the warranty period, you can contact us. We will then advise you on repairs or replacement of your purchase.

In addition to the manufacturer's warranty, our watches have a legal warranty. Legal warranty means that a product must do what the consumer can reasonably expect from it.

The following parts are not covered by the warranty for watches:

  • Battery
  • Glass
  • Crown
  • Watch strap
  • Falling out stones
  • (Carrying) damage
  • Discoloration
  • Damage due to an accident, falls or bumps causing the hands or indexes to come loose, broken strap pins or scratches
  • Water damage due to opened crown or operating buttons under water
  • Missing or theft

The above guarantee applies without prejudice to the statutory rights of the consumer.

Complaints

It can always happen that something doesn't go exactly as planned. We recommend that you first report any complaints to us by emailing customerservice@horlogewinkel.com . We will then do our best to find a solution that you will be satisfied with.

Warranty and waterproofing

We recommend that watches come into contact with water (as little as possible). Nothing is more damaging to your watch than water. Water has several disadvantages for your watch, such as rust. Many watches have a water resistance feature. There are many misunderstandings about this (See explanation in our frequently asked questions)

Watches that come into contact with water often have to deal with temperature differences, which can also cause problems. A common problem with this is moisture in your watch. The (warmer or colder) air cannot escape from the watch, because the watch is waterproof. This problem does not or hardly occur with a non-waterproof watch. If all goes well, the condensation will disappear automatically. But it can still have disadvantages for your watch in the long term. The timepiece does not like moisture and can become damaged. The material can also shrink/expand.

If you have ever bumped the watch against something, invisible/minuscule hairline cracks may have appeared, making your watch more likely to sustain water damage.

You only have a 2-year warranty on the movement of your watch. The warranty on a watch will not cover water damage in any way. Watches are tested when they are produced (by means of a pressure test) so they are always waterproof when they arrive in (online) stores.
